Symon's Super Mix

What is so Special about Symons' Super Mix?
The alfalfa, millet, buckwheat, rosehips and kelp, which make up Symons Super Mix reflect the best of herbal, cereal grain, berry and seaweed worlds they represent. When formulated together they not only complement each other perfectly but also together create the most nutritionally balanced and concentrated natural food supplement on the market today. There are not known foods or food supplement products that contain a higher concentration of vitamins and minerals than Symons' Super Mix and at the same time present them in a naturally balanced way so that they are optimally functional in the body.

Vitamins are organic food substances found only in living things such as plants and animals. They are present in varying quantities in specific foods and each is absolutely necessary for proper growth and maintenance of health. Most vitamins cannot be synthesized by the body and must be supplied in the diet or in dietary supplements. They are important to the body as consituents of enzymes which function as catalysts in nearly all-metabolic reactions. Vitamins help regulate metabolism, convert fat and carbohydrates into energy and assist in forming bone and tissue. They aid in the building of all major body structures. It would be impossible to sustain life without them. We need sufficient amounts of all the vitamins. Even marginal deficiencies can create a basic physical imbalance that affects our behaviors, our intelligence, our performance; our surveys indicated that most people have low levels of one or more of the essential nutrients. This usually stems from faulty eating habits or the consumption of overly processed nutritionally inferior food. As a result, a good natural food supplement can play a vital role in filling these nutritional gaps.

Symons' Super Mix contains the entire spectrum of vitamins in their natural state. That they have not been isolated and recombined but do exist in the air naturally chelated form bonded to other nutrient factors makes them more dynamic than if they were a synthetic product produced in a laboratory. Excessive vitamin ingestion is almost always associated with synthetic vitamin preparations and almost never with a natural product and Symons' Super Mix is a natural product. All of its ingredients are a high source of natural vitamins. This is certainly reflected in it carotene content. Carotene is called a pro-vitamin A in that is becomes Vitamin A as it is acted on by the body. Because it's not a pure vitamin A, it cannot cause hypervitaminosis but as it is acted upon by the body, it takes on all the properties of Vitamin A. Through its role in antibody and white blood cell production, it protects against eye disorders including night blindness, promotes healthy skin, hair, teeth, gums, and bones, and strengthens the immune system. It also promotes the general growth and repair of tissue in the body. Symons' Super Mix contains almost 3 times as much carotene as carrots.

Symons' Super Mix is also an excellent source of most of the B Complex vitamins. This is particularly true of Vitamin B1, B2 and choline. Vitamin B1 (thiamine) and B2 (riboflavin) are usually found in only small amounts in most common foods (See Appendix 3). They are two of the most important yet often deficient nutrients.

Vitamin B1 is known as the "morale vitamin" because of its relation to a healthy nervous system and its beneficial effect on mental attitude. It is also linked to improving learning capacity in children. It improves muscle tone in the stomach, intestines and the heart. It also stablizes appetite by improving food assimilation and digestion particularly of starches, sugar and alcohol. It strengthens the pituitary gland and also has some involvement in thyroid production.

Vitamin B2 is one of a group of catalysts involved in the utilization and breakdown of carbohydrates, fats and proteins. It is necessary for cell respiration and works with other co-enzymes in the utilization of all oxygen. It also benefits vision and reinforces the immune system.

Choline is also an important vitamin component of the Symons' Super Mix. It is primarily associated with fat and cholesterol utilization in the body. It prevents fats from accumulating in the liver and facilitates the movement of fats into the cells. Choline is also essential for the health of the myelin sheaths of the nerves, which are the principle components of the nerve fibers. It plays an important role in enabling the transmission of nerve impulses.

Many consumers of the Symons' Super Mix have found it to be most beneficial in lowering cholesterol, stablizing blood pressure, relaxing the nervous system and promoting better sleeping patterns. Children who have used it have been noted to be less hyperactive, exemplify greater ability to concentrated and generally function better academically. No doubt the relatively high levels of vitamins B1, B2 and choline in the Symons' Super Mix must take some of the credit of these results.
But the Super Mix contains a relatively high concentration of most nutrients. This is even true of some of the more obscure vitamins such as vitamin K and vitamin U. Both are known to aid in the prevention of internal bleeding by promoting proper blood clotting. They have been shown to be essential components in the healing of ulcers. Is it any wonder then why individuals suffering with ulceration of the stomach or bowel have reported beneficial results on using the Symons' Super Mix?

Along with vitamins, minerals too play an important role in health maintenance and are vital to mental and physical well-being. Minerals liberate vitamins to perform their function in our bodies and if they are not present other elements cannot be properly assimilated. Minerals ct as catalysts for many biological reactions within the body including muscle response, the transmission of nerve impluses, digestion and
strengthening skeletal structures and preserving the vigor of the heart and brain. Minerals also maintain the delicate water balance in the body, keeping blood and tissue fluids from becoming either too acidic or too alkaline. They also help draw chemical substances in and out of the cells and aid in the creation of antibodies to keep the immune system strong.

Our only source of mineral is the foods we eat. Vegetables and whole grains are a good source of minerals. Unfortunately, our diet is usually lacking in these foods. The soil on which our food is being grown is becoming increasingly deficient in essential minerals. As a result, mineral deficiency is an all too common reality in the North American diet.
Symons' Super Mix is an excellent source of all the essential minerals our body needs. Millet, buckwheat, kelp and especially alfalfa are excellent sources of minerals. The root system of the alfalfa plant reaches down 100 feet or more into the soil drawing from it its full store of minerals and other trace elements. Appendix 2 verifies the subsequent high minerals levels in the Symons' Super Mix.

A particularly important mineral found in abundance in the Super Mix is potassium. In fact, it contains 5 times more potassium than bananas. Because the North American diet consists primarily of acidic foods such as meat, starches, and sugar, which are low in potassium, a deficiency in these minerals is all too common. Potassium is known to neutralize sodium levels in the body and in so doing lowers blood pressure. If there is a potassium deficiency exacerbated by the excessive sodium and acidic food consumption cholesterol and wastes build up in the blood vessels leading to edema, high blood pressure and subsequent heart disease. Potassium will normally prevent over-acidity from occurring helping the body to maintain a proper acid/alkaline balance in the blood tissues. It also stimulates the kidneys acting as a good diuretic. It activates nerve impulses for muscle contraction. It also functions in cell metabolism, enzyme reactions and the synthesis of muscle protein from amino acids in the blood. Furthermore, it prevents female disorders by stimulating endocrine hormone production.

A shortage or potassium in the body or an excess of sodium (salt) in the system will generally result in fatigue. Supplementation with potassium gets the body fluids moving again and usually acts as a "pick-me-up" in such cases. Numerous consumers of Symons' Super Mix have reported how their heart related concerns improved, that they no long had problems with water retention and for the most part felt less tired and considerably more energetic on using it. It is quite conceivable that the high potassium/low sodium levels in the mixture are largely responsible for these results.

Symons' Super Mix is also an excellent source of calcium and magnesium. It actually contains 15 times more calcium per 100 gms than whole cow's milk. Together with its partner magnesium, calcium is most important in maintaining cardiovascular health. To function properly magnesium, phosphorus and Vitamins A, C and D should accompany calcium. These nutrients are found in a near perfect balance in the Symons' Super Mix. Together with phosphorus, calcium builds strong bones and teeth. It helps regulate the heart beat, eases insomnia, and is essential for healthy blood. Its plays a role in muscle growth, muscle contraction and nerve impulse transmission. It also helps regulate the passage of nutrients through the cell walls.

Consumers of Symons' Super Mix continually note the benefit they have received from cardiovascular and arthritic conditions. It is really not all that surprising when one views the nutritional data. It is true that alfalfa does have certain ant-arthritic properties but equally important is the fact that the high levels of calcium in the mixture are assured of proper delegation and use in the body through the facilitation of near perfect levels of vitamin D, magnesium and phosphorus. When calcium is not surrounded with its friends it ends up plaquing arteries and depositing itself in joints. When taken in a source containing a proper ratio of facilitating elements it strengthens the arteries, heart, muscles and bones.

Symons' Super Mix is also an excellent source of iron. It contains 12 times more iron than spinach, which is often considered to be the best natural source of the mineral. The major function of iron is to mix with copper and protein to make hemoglobin, which transports oxygen in the blood from the lungs to the tissues, which need oxygen to maintain the basic life functions. Iron deficiency is one of the most common food deficiencies in the country. This form of deficiency results in anemia where the oxygen carrying capacity of the blood is reduced. Symptoms include fatigue, pale skin, constipation, brittle nails and difficult breathing. This condition is often prevalent in the elderly. They would find it to be of great benefit to supplement their diet with Symons' Super Mix. It is this sector of our society that tends to show the greatest evidence of suffering with the symptoms of metabolic deficiency. It is here that cononary heart disease, arthritis, asthma, constipation and anemia are ever present. Many of those who have used this food supplement have found relief without the use of medicines. Their food is their medicine.

Essential to the releasing of the invaluable micronutrients, the vitamins, minerals and amino acids, which keep us alive and healthy, are complex proteins called enzymes. Vitamins and minerals would have little value without enzymes to release them. Enzymes are catalysts, which enable the chemical breakdown of nutrients at the cellular level. There is really no function of the body that would be possible without enzymes. Although their primary role is the promotion of synthesis and decomposition of nutrients, enzymes are also capable of neutralizing poisons and detoxifying the body. Each enzyme is capable of breaking down only a single specific substance. For example, an enzyme capable of breaking of breaking down fats cannot break down proteins or carbohydrates or vice versa. But enzymes are very sensitive to heat and over process. When food have been overly cooked or otherwise tampered with very often the vital enzymes are destroyed seriously hampering their nutritional integrity. The less heat and processing a food undergoes in the process of its preparation the great the likelihood that its enzymes will be alive to aid in its synthesis and decomposition.

Symons' Super Mix contains at least 8 important enzymes.
Amylase - which acts upon starches
Lipase - splits fats
Protease - digests proteins
Emulsin - acts upon sugars
Coagulase - coagulates milk and clots blood
Invertase - converts cane sugar into dextrose
Peroxidase - has an oxidizing effect on blood
Pectinase - acts upon fruit

These enzymes are alive, intact and able to carry out the functions they were intended for is assured by the limited processing or heat involved in the preparation of the Super Mix ingredients. Special care is taken to dry the alfalfa leaf naturally so that only limited heat or sun bleaching is involved. This is a primary reason that Symons' Super Mix is so effective.

Another important nutrient for the maintenance of health is protein. During digestion, proteins are decomposed into simpler units called amino acids. These are the actual structures that the body requires for building purposes. The adult human body can actually produce all but 8 of the amino acids. These 8 are called the essential amino acids and must be present simultaneously and in the proper proportions to assume proper protein syntheses. If just one of the essential amino acids is missing protein synthesis will fall to a major source of building materials for muscles, blood, skin, hair, nails and the internal organs including the heart and brain. They are also required for hormone formation and keep body fluids and acid/alkaline levels in balance. Enzymes and the body's antibodies are also formed from protein.

But as there are different sources of protein there are also different kinds. For instance, animal protein molecules are complex and quite difficult for the body to break down and assimilate. Vegetable protein molecules on the other hand, are lightweight polypeptides, which are less complex and quite easy to break down. Most North Americans eat an incredible amount of animal protein and in the process often get more protein than they actually need. But because this source of protein is not very easy to utilize a considerable toxic build up results in the body. Most animal protein is, however a complete protein whereas vegetable protein is for the most part incomplete, lacking in all 8 of the essential amino acids. The ideal would be to find a complete protein in a fruit or vegetable source, which is so much easier to break down and assimilate with a minimal toxic build up in the body. The solution to this dilemma can be found in Symons' Super Mix. The mix is an excellent source of protein containing 20.7% of the nutrient and all 8 essential amino acids. It also contains a valuable store of other amino acids as well. (See Appendix 1). It is these building blocks obtained from an easily assimilated source which diseased bodies require to re-establish homeostasis and from there rebuild. Symons' Super Mix fits the bill marvelously.

The Alkalinity Factor
When foods are eaten and oxidized in the body a residue or ash is formed. If the minerals sodium, potassium, calcium and magnesium predominate in this residue over sulphur, phosphorus, chlorine and uncombusted organic acid radicals they are considered alkaline ash foods. If the other group of minerals predominates they would be considered acid ash foods. The body is known to work better, heal faster, and energy levels increase when it operates on the alkaline side. Yet, the North American diet is primarily acid forming. Meat, starches (bread), and sugars leave an acid ash, while vegetables and fruit are alkaline. We eat far too much acid forming foods, which creates an environment in which diseases thrive. In an alkaline medium they will not. A diet consisting or primarily alkaline forming foods will strengthen the immune system, ward off infections, improve metabolism and benefit circulation. It has been shown that allergy sufferers tend to have a blood pH that is on the acidic side. Allergy related conditions such as asthma, eczema and rheumatism all seem to respond to an alkaline oriented diet. Symons' Super Mix is at least 130 units alkaline. Most fruits and vegetables are only in the 1-10 range of alkalinity. The high level of alkalinity provides an excellent medium for healing. It is not surprising then that consumers with asthma, eczema and rheumatism have all reported benefit from Super Mix use.

The green leaves of the alfalfa plant in its pre-flowering stage are an excellent source of chlorophyll. Dr. John Christopher, the renowned herbalist, called alfalfa "the King of Chlorophyll". Chlorophyll, the green pigment in the leaves of all plants, has a molecular structure that is almost exactly identical to that hemoglobin in red blood cells. Blood, however, contains an atom of iron where chlorophyll contains an atom of magnesium. Chlorophyll enters the bloodstream very quickly and when administered to anemics has brought their red blood cell count back to normal within a few days. Chlorophyll is also a high source of iron. It purifies the liver, balances blood sugar, arrest the development of unfriendly bacteria in the body, is a marvelous deodorizer and is most valuable in healing wounds, skin problems and gum diseases. It has also proved to be a wonderful infection fighter by building up the immune system. Through the process of photosynthesis, chlorophyll enables the power of the sun to be captured in the leaves of plants. Sunshine basically becomes available to man when he eats any green leafy vegetables or herbs. Chlorophyll is one of nature's greatest healers of conditions inside or outside the body.
The rich green colour of the alfalfa used in the Symons' Super Mix speaks for its high chlorophyll content. Timely harvesting of the crop, not allowing it to bleach in the sun and removing most of its stem assures a high chlorophyll concentration not always found in other alfalfa based products.

Dietary Fiber
More and more studies are being done to determine how the body uses fiber and how valuable it actually is. The studies conducted by Dr. Denis P. Burkitt compared populations and their total diet. He compared the high fiber diet of the Ugandans, among whom he was working, with the typical North American diet and noticed a striking correlation between the high fiber diet and the absence of certain diseases. These diseases included coronary heart disease, colo-rectal cancer, over-weight, diabetes, hypoglycemia, diverticulitis, gallstone and varicose veins. Numerous other studies on the value of fiber have subsequently confirmed these results.

A group headed by R.A. Brown of McGill University treated rats with chemicals causing colon cancer then fed them with graduated amounts of fiber. It was found that the more fiber there was in the diet the lower the percentage of animals that developed intestinal tumors.

A retrospective study headed by J.N. Morris of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine kept track of 337 men for 20 years. In that time 45 of them developed coronary heart disease. Morris reported that the 45 men ate an average of 6.7 grams of cereal fiber daily compared with 8.9 grams among the men who did not develop heart disease, a difference that was statistically significant.

These are just some of quite a number of similar studies, which attest to the value of fiber in the diet. Dietary fiber is a valuable component of Symons' Super Mix. It contains 10.7% fiber. Consequently, its value as a bowel regulator has been confirmed time and time again. Consumers have also reported benefit from coronary heart disease, diabetes, varicose veins and other conditions, which the studies have verified as being aided by a more consistent and substantial dietary fiber intake.

Symons' Super Mix is indeed the ideal food supplement. The thousands of consumers who have reported benefit from it are living testimony of its value. There have been those who after using the Super Mix for a time have decided for one reason or another to try other supplements including alfalfa products (often tablets or capsules) because they were considered easier to take. It usually wasn't long before they were back using the Super Mix simply because it had a better effect and it did the job. It brought the noticeable results. What might account for this? True, Symons' Super Mix does contain the high concentration of nutrients detailed above and verified by laboratory tests. This does make the product special. What makes the real difference, however, is the special care that has and continues to be taken in selecting only the best ingredients in their near natural state assuring that their rich store of nutrients and enzymes are alive and at their peak of value. The timely cutting and careful harvesting and drying of the alfalfa leaf is extremely important. It makes enough of a difference to give this product a clear edge.

What can Symons' Super Mix do for you?
The purpose of any food supplement is to supply the body with nutrients that it is unable to get from the diet. That food supplements are necessary at all rests on the premise that there are nutritional gaps created by nutrient deficiencies and that these deficiencies have a direct bearing on the state of an individual's mental and physical well-being. Nutrient deficiencies can arise from an inferior food supply or poor eating habits but there are also others factors to be considered. Even a well balanced diet can create deficiencies.

There are really quite a number of reasons why we may not be able to rely on our diet alone to provide us with the nutrients we need. Each individual biochemical make-up has particular demands, which simply cannot always be addressed without supplementation. Because we live in an age of considerable stress, our bodies can be robbed of many nutrients especially B Complex vitamins, vitamins A and C and the mineral zinc. It is true that much of our food supply has been deadened by environmental pollution by over-processing and heating. The chemical additives in our foods such as dyes, bleaches, preservatives, artificial flavors and colors, hydro-genators amongst others are poisoning our food supply. Chlorinated drinking water robs the body of nutrients. So do smoking, drinking, caffeine, aspirin and laxatives. Certain medications too have a detrimental effect on nutrient on nutrient deficiency symptoms. This is why a good food supplement is so important and why Symons' Super Mix can be an invaluable addition to anyone's diet.

For some this will simply mean that their bodies will begin to function better at the cellular level giving greater energy and a feeling of well being. For others it will strengthen body tissue, strengthen the immune system and prevent metabolic deficiency conditions. Symons' Super Mix has also played a contributing role in restoring health debilitated by nutrient deficiency.

More reports of benefit come from arthritics and rheumatics than any other group. These reports have been wonderful and at times amazing. Alfalfa has long been known by herbalists to have certain anti-arthritic properties. Its excellent balance of calcium, magnesium, sodium and phophorus must play a large role in promoting better calcium assimilation in the body so that the all important mineral is used properly to build and strengthen skeletal tissue rather than settle in joints and muscles.

Many excellent reports have also been received from consumers suffering from a variety of circulatory and heart disease related conditions. The high levels of potassium are essential in lowering blood pressure, as is the high level of certain essential B complex vitamins. The balanced calcium/magnesium ratio also helps to keep heart muscle and blood vessel structures strong. So many with coronary heart disease have found great benefit after taking the Symons' Super Mix.

Diabetics, hypoglycemics, asthmatics, those suffering with liver problems, and various gastro-intestinal and bowel conditions including ulcers and tumors have all noted results. Others suffering from depletion of the nervous system, insomnia, and various skin conditions including eczema, psoriasis have also noted benefits. In fact, there seems hardly a condition that one user or another of the Symons' Super Mix has not reported some benefit from. Pregnant and nursing mothers bear healthy, colic free babies. Parents have also noted that their childrens' ability to concentrate and learn increases. These cases have all been reported over the years. There are even some involving ailing pets.

It is becoming increasingly clear that most health problems, most diabetics in this day and age bear some link to metabolic deficiency. With this understanding it is not surprising that Symons' Super Mix draws such raves from its users. It consists of the best natural ingredients nature has to offer. The care taken in harvesting and preparing them assures that the large store of vitamins and minerals they contain will have catalysts available to make them work. It also assures the highest protein and chlorophyll content as possible as well as an adequate amount of vital dietary fiber. All of these factors must be seen as playing a significant role in making Symons' Super Mix the success story it has come to be.

But, then again, it should be reiterated that Symon
