Directions for Use
For a small group of people who are very sensitive, the recommended dosage may be too much to start with. Ease in by starting with a third or half dosage and working your way up to the standard dosage. Strauss herbal formulas are not prescription drugs. Each individual must find their own effective dose for their body type. It is better to take more than not enough.
Dosage
Take 3 capsules at bedtime. If it interferes with sleep, take in the morning. If no improvement after 2 months, increase dosage to 6 capsules daily, 3 in the morning and 3 at bedtime. If no improvement after an additional 2 weeks, then increase dosage to 9 capsules, 3 in the morning, 3 in the afternoon and 3 at bedtime.
Length of Treatment Time
Continue using the Strauss Thyroid formula for 1-3 months.
Noticeable results for most people in the first 2-6 weeks.
Note
For maximum effect, the Strauss Thyroid formula must be taken consistently for the recommended duration. It is important not to skip a dose.
Allow one hour between taking different herbal preparations in capsule form and half an hour between liquid forms. Do not mix teas.
Thyroid Function At-Home Test
Put a thermometer beside your bed. Upon awakening in the morning, before anything else, place the thermometer snugly in your armpit for 15 minutes. Keep still. Remove the thermometer, take a reading, and record the results. Repeat for 3 days. Add all 3 readings and then divide by three to get your average temperature. If your average temperature is below 36.4°C (97.5°F) you may have a low or under active thyroid, and you should talk to your doctor and discuss your readings. If you are of childbearing age, do not perform this test 1 week prior to menstruating or during your cycle, for accuracy reasons.
Tips for Easy Use
Take with warm, quality water.
For best results, take on an empty stomach.
If you find the capsules too big to swallow, you can break them open into a cup of hot water, stir and drink on an empty stomach. Maple syrup or honey may be used to sweeten the taste.
